桥下的水一旦流过，就永远过去了，因此该习语表示“过去的事就不要再纠结了”。

(like) water off a duck’s back
鸭背上的水，一滑而落，这个表达用来形容对他人的批评毫无反应，就像“耳旁风”。

(take to sth) like a duck to water
该习语字面意思是“像鸭子入水般容易”，实际上表达的是“轻而易举，毫不困难，毫无畏惧(习惯于某事)”。

鱼离了水就不能生存，因此，a fish out of water表示“离水之鱼；在陌生环境不得其所的人”。

hold water
它的字面意思是能“盛水”。一个容器要能盛水，质地需要足够严密，不能有任何裂缝。所以，如果一种理论或说法能够hold water，就是指它够紧密，没有破绽，即“能站得住脚”。
