An air-to-air intercooler system primarily consists of a turbocharger, an air-to-air intercooler, and oil inlet and outlet pipes. Driven by the exhaust turbine, the turbocharger rotates at a high speed. Thus the blower impeller, which is attached on the same shaft as that of the impeller shaft, is brought to rotate, too. Air is compressed by the blower before it enters the combustion chamber of the engine, thereby increasing the engine air charge, making the combustion more sufficient, improving the engine power, and decreasing the specific fuel consumption and emitted hazardous materials.
