anufacturer’s instructions for detailed information for the prime mover (engine or steam turbine) coupling, drive-shaft, electric driver, or mechanical seal. When applicable to the pump and prior to startup, check the following:

    Mechanical Seal is properly lubricated and all piping to the seal connected

    Alignment with a dial indicator to indicate the headshaft at the oil nut or packing box. Acceptable run-out tolerances:
